1.01 -- Prelecture
[A]
This is a model bridge that I constructed for a project in Yr 12 Engineering Studies. It encompasses a truss lattice design with struts linking the bracing to the deck below. Using thin strips of balsa wood, little triangles were cut out to form the base of the gussets. This ensures the joints are stable and immobile while it undergoes vigorous testing by applying both tensile and compressive forces. For added originality, the bridge was constructed at a slight angle with the walls slanting outwards, breaking away from the conventional design of modern engineering standards.

Earlier this year, I was lucky enough to visit this destination as part of my travel itinerary. Based on my passion for modern architecture, I consider this to be of a great form mainly due to its originality and sheer beauty. After some research, I manage to discover how how the architect's design was initially inspired by a deck of cards. What makes the resort even more unique is the placement of a 'ship' on top that features an infinity pool with views to around central Singapore.
What can I say? Everybody likes food. And since the criteria doesn't specifically indicate the type of images to post, please enjoy this beautiful picture of a meal that I had. Shown is a medium rare steak with all the trimmings from North Ryde Rsl. I urge you, please go there and try it for yourself. You will not be disappointed.
